Atlanta Modernist Gut Rehab!

He's Chris, I'm Maggie, and we're rescuing (we hope) a long-abandoned modernist house in Atlanta, GA (Morningside/Lenox Park, for those who know the area.) We spent months negotiating the foreclosure deal, and as I initiate this blog we're at the stage of filling our third dumpster. We're doing the demo ourselves (including destruction/trashing of a hideous addition as big as the house) but the contractor will begin on the roof at the beginning of 2005. Join us as we share the surprises, the nightmares of cost overruns, the challenge of design and decor (yep, we're doing it ourselves!), and hiring a contractor who's a personal friend (well, for now anyway ;-) (December 20, 2004)
